Community service is at the core of everything we do at the Kiwanis Club of Greater Poulsbo. For decades, our club has been a pillar of strength in Poulsbo, dedicated to improving the lives of residents through a wide range of impactful projects and partnerships. We are more than just a service club—we are a driving force for positive change in our community.
A Legacy of Service
Our commitment to service runs deep. We believe that by rolling up our sleeves and working together, we can create a stronger, more vibrant Poulsbo. Our projects are designed to address the real needs of our community, from maintaining public spaces to supporting local youth and partnering with other organizations that share our mission.
Hands-On Community Service Projects
Our members are actively involved in hands-on projects that make a tangible difference in Poulsbo. Some of our key initiatives include:
Park Cleanups: We organize regular park cleanups where our members paint picnic tables, scrub playground equipment, trim trees, and clear overgrown vegetation. These efforts ensure that our public spaces remain safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.
Supporting Local Organizations: We proudly collaborate with a variety of local organizations to amplify our impact. Our partnerships include:
North Kitsap School District PTSAs: We work closely with Parent Teacher Student Associations across the district to enhance educational experiences and provide vital resources for students, teachers, and families.
Poulsbo Parks and Recreation Department: Our collaboration with the local parks department helps maintain and improve recreational facilities, making sure they are accessible and enjoyable for all residents.
North Kitsap Little League: We support youth sports by contributing to the success of the North Kitsap Little League, fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among young athletes.
Coffee Oasis: We partner with this local nonprofit to provide support and resources for homeless and at-risk youth, helping to create pathways to a brighter future.
These partnerships are just a small snapshot of the many organizations we actively support and work with. Our reach is broad, and our impact is significant. We are always looking for new opportunities to make a difference in Poulsbo, whether through volunteerism, fundraising, or advocacy.
Join the Kiwanis Club of Greater Poulsbo to make a positive impact on your community. Meetings are held every Friday at 7:00 AM at the Coffee Oasis in Poulsbo.
For many years we have sponsored North Kitsap Little League t-ball teams. This morning we enjoyed cheering for these young athletes. It was home run fun for everyone! ... See MoreSee Less
It seems April showers truly do bring May flowers.
Last month's blooms were plenty!
We were thrilled to support the creation of a new Free Little Library in Poulsbo located at 19844 Blue Lagoon Place NE in Poulsbo. Read To Achieve Children's Literacy Program did a great job!
For Viking Fest, we helped sponsor a team from Leadership Kitsap in their effort to create an awareness campaign for pedestrian safety by designing highly visible stickers that are perfect for bikes and backpacks.
We also helped our friends Camp Beausite Northwest purchase a new commercial refrigerator after their old one died- just in time for the season, phew!
New this year, the club help award the Alice Wood Memorial Scholarship to Teegan DeVries. We wish her the best of luck in her educational endeavors.
Happy Earth Day! Poulsbo Kiwanians were out taking care of Mother Nature last Saturday clearing litter from Hwy 305 and hosting a booth at Poulsbo's Fish Park for their annual celebration of conservation and education. #earthdayiseveryday... See MoreSee Less
