The Kiwanis Club of Greater Poulsbo proudly participated in this year’s National Night Out, held on August 6th in downtown Poulsbo. This event, celebrated nationwide, aims to strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the communities they serve, fostering a spirit of safety, unity, and crime prevention.
This year, the Kiwanis Club’s involvement highlights their dedication to enhancing the local community through service and collaboration. At the event, the club hosted an interactive booth featuring activities for children and families, including games and educational materials focused on community engagement and safety. Club members were on hand to discuss their various service projects and to share information on how residents can get involved with Kiwanis to make a positive impact in Poulsbo.
“We were excited to be part of National Night Out and to support the Poulsbo Police Department,” said Rachel Cornette. “This event provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with our neighbors, celebrate our community, and work together to ensure that Poulsbo remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.”
The Poulsbo Police Department played a key role in the evening’s festivities, offering safety demonstrations, showcasing police vehicles, and giving residents the chance to meet and interact with the officers who protect their community. The event in downtown Poulsbo was a resounding success, drawing in families, local leaders, and community members for an evening of fun, education, and community building, and leaving everyone proud and excited about the strength of their community.
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Poulsbo looks forward with great anticipation to continuing its involvement in community events and initiatives, supporting the growth and well-being of the Poulsbo area. This commitment to the future fills us all with hope and optimism for what we can achieve together.

ONE WEEK AWAY
Next Saturday, January 17, the Poulsbo Walmart parking lot becomes the official retirement community for your outdated electronics.
That laptop that takes 14 minutes to start?
The drawer of cords that fit nothing you own?
The TV you keep because “it still works” but also weighs as much as regret?
👉 Their time has come.
Join Kiwanis Club of Greater Poulsbo, SBK Recycle, and Walmart Supercenter for a FREE Tech Recycling Event that lets you feel wildly productive before lunchtime.
📅 Saturday , January 17
⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Poulsbo Walmart Parking Lot
🚗 Drive-up drop-off (pants optional, but encouraged)
♻️ Recycling = FREE
❤️ Cash donations = superhero move
Recycling saves the planet. Donations support local kids and families right here in our community. If you can toss a few dollars in, you’re officially a good human.
⚠️ Important but fun rules:
✔️ Flat-screen TVs & LCD monitors = YES
❌ CRT / tube TVs = NO
(If it hums, buzzes, or could double as gym equipment… it’s a no.)
Bring:
📦 Old tech
💵 A few bucks (if you’re able)
😄 A sense of humor
Leave with:
✨ Space in your garage
✨ Community karma
✨ The smug satisfaction of checking something off your list
🌱 Recycle responsibly.
🤝 Support your neighbors.
😎 Be the reason your garage can breathe again.
